Target training is all about teaching your horse to seek out and touch a specific object with a specific part of his body.

The most common form is nose targeting, a simple but incredibly useful tool whenever you want to motivate your horse to move forward rather than driving him from behind, or invite him to position and move his head in a certain direction.

In this course, you’ll learn the whole process, from introducing the target for the very first time to developing the training into different games and exercises.

You’ll also be guided step by step through using target training for trailer loading.
We begin with preparatory exercises away from the trailer and gradually build up to the ultimate goal: your horse confidently loading himself while you’re standing on the outside.

From the first curious touch to independent trailer loading, you’ll discover how a simple target can become a powerful tool for motivation, communication, and playful training.

Hi!
My name is Lina Zachanox, and I am the course leader for this course. I have over 20 years of experience as a trainer in communication, trick training, riding, and problem-solving. I have previously competed at elite levels in six different western disciplines, but I am not tied to any specific discipline and train in both the higher schools of dressage and jumping.

My approach to horses and humans is holistic, where I strive for balance in the whole being – mind, body, and soul.

I have authored 6 books and 12 booklets with horse training exercises (over 1000 pole work exercises!), with readers in over 120 countries in 4 languages.
